TURKEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH KARABAKH TALKS

"Within the period of 2009-2010, any developments in the process of
settlement to the Karabakh conflict and Armenian-Turkish reconciliation
were going in parallel," said chairman of the European Integration
public organisation, a political scientist, Karen Bekarian.

Bekarian pointed that Turkey used to voice issue of Karabakh in
all possible directions and relations; however, it stopped this
after the process of normalisation of relations between Armenia and
Turkey was banned. According to scientist, it's clear to both Turkey
and Azerbaijan on the one hand, and international community on the
other, that Turkey has nothing to do with the process of settlement
    to Karabakh conflict.

"It's obvious, that Turkey has lost all its chances in all senses,
and this is clear even to Azerbaijan," said Karen Bekarian. He added
that Turkey's active involvement causes hardening of positions on
both sides and doesn't put forward negotiations.

"Azerbaijan has tightened position having a chimerical dream that being
    so strongly backed by Turkey means that it can never make concessions;
and Armenia, in its turn, tightened position as its perceiving of
Turkey's position is subjective," said Bekarian.

"Turkey's role keeps on lowering; and in generally, Turkey's withdrawal
from the process of settlement to Karabakh makes both sides more
    normal and effective," he added.
