CAROLINE COX: TURKISH AUTHORITIES ARE AFRAID OF FACING THE TRUTH AND RECOGNIZING THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Turkish authorities are afraid of facing the truth and recognizing
the Armenian Genocide, said Baroness Caroline Cox, Head of the
Armenian-British Parliamentary Friendship Group, in a press conference
at the Armenian National Assembly on Thursday.

She condemned Ankara for denying the Armenian Genocide and said that
recognition of that fact will prevent such terrible crimes against
mankind in future. She recalled the statement Adolf Hitler made when
attacking Poland: "Who remembers the Armenian Genocide?"

She said that time will not heal all sorrows of the Armenian people
until Turkey and the entire world community recognize and condemn the
Armenian Genocide. Baroness Cox said that she had repeatedly raised
the issue of recognition of the Armenian Genocide at the British
Parliament, but insufficient information on this fact creates obstacles
    to its recognition.

For his part, House Representative John Wittingdale said that the
Holocaust is much spoken of today unlike the Armenian Genocide. John
Wittingdale said the numerous materials, photos and video records they
watched in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute shocked them. He
said they are going to inform their colleagues about what happened
in 1915 in order the British Parliament gets a full idea of the
    Armenian Genocide.
