7TH ARAM KHACHATRYAN INTERNATIONAL CONTEST KICKS OFF IN YEREVAN TODAY

The 7th Aram Khachatryan International Contest kicks off in Yerevan
today. The contest will be held under the aegis of Fist Lady Rita
Sargsyan. It has been organized by the Armenian Ministry of Culture,
the Aram Khachaturian Competition Cultural Foundation and the Yerevan
State Conservatory after Komitas.
The chief partner of the competition is the CIS Interstate Humanitarian
Cooperation Fund. The Fund's Executive Director Armen Smbatyan
presented the details of the event to be held in Yerevan June 6-13.
Tribute to the memory of the great composer on his birthday on June
6 marked the start of the symbolic start of the 7th Aram Khachatryan
International Contest.
