Bako Sahakyan: `Having a Healthy Society is among the Main Issues the
State Faces'

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS:
President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan partook June 17 at the
capital's Youth and Culture Palace in a solemn event, dedicated to the
Day of Medical Workers. President Bako Sahakyan handed state awards to
a group of workers and veterans of the sphere and made a speech.
An official from the central information department of the Office of
Artsakh Republic President told Armenpress that in his speech Bako
Sahakyan emphasized the importance of the medical workers'
contribution to the protection of people's health and provision of
medical assistance to the population. The president stated that having
a healthy society is among the main issues the Artsakh republic faces
and everything possible is being done in the republic for rendering
qualitative medical service to the citizens, building hospitals and
medical institutions, equipped with modern technologies.
In connection with the Day of Medical Workers, President of the
Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan signed decrees on awarding. For
achievements in the spheres of medical care and medical service the
"Vachagan Barepasht" medal was awarded to: Karine Atayan, cardiologist
of the NKR Healthcare Ministry's "Armine Pakoumyan Clinic" CJSC,
candidate of medical sciences; Karen Baziyan, surgeon, deputy
executive director of the NKR Healthcare Ministry's "Republican
Hospital" CJSC; Karen Balasanov, physician of the NKR Healthcare
Ministry's "Center of Mother and Child Health Care" CJSC.
"The Gratitude" medal was awarded to: Anahit Avanesyan, physician of
the NKR Healthcare Ministry's "of Mother and Child Health Care" CJSC,
Irina Grigoryan, doctor in the village of Sos, Martouni Region
(posthumously); Zina Ghahramanyan, teacher of the NKR Healthcare
Ministry's "Stepanakert Medical College after Tamara Kamalyan" state
non-profit organization.
According to another presidential decree, signed on the same day, the
title of the NKR Honored Doctor was granted to Vladimir Mousayelyan,
anesthesiologist- resuscitator of the NKR Healthcare Ministry's
"Republican Hospital" CJSC, for significant contribution to the
development of health care and showing exclusive professional
abilities.
