    "We know in the West that there, under the snows of Mount Ararat,
    is the blood of Armenians" Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, the Vatican's
    culture minister said in Yerevan.

    Yesterday evening, the Cardinal held a meeting with Armenian Catholics
    in St. Grigor Narekatsi Church.

    Cianfranco Ravasi said that he was going to discuss the organization of
    cultural events and exhibitions with the Armenian Minister of Culture.

    There are about 180 000 Catholics in Armenia. The Armenian Catholic
    Church was re-established by the order of Pope John Paul II in 1991.

    The church belongs to the group of Eastern Rite Catholic churches
    and uses the Armenian Rite and the Armenian language in its liturgy.
