PM: IT SPHERE HAS A LEADING ROLE IN ARMENIA'S ECONOMY

The fourth annual "DigiTech Business" and "Microsoft Innovation"
forums launched today in Yerevan with the participation of the Armenian
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. The goal of the event is to promote
the application of IT in different branches of the economy.
The prime minister stated with delight that every year this forum
is being conducted in full hall where the representatives of the
sphere have an opportunity to sum up the past year, reveal the
achievements and shortcomings of the sphere. "In this respect the
forum is an important platform for us too. It is not a secret that
the digitalization brought to the increase of productivity in the
21st century. The wide application of the IT will increase the
productiveness of our economy", the head of the government said.
Tigran Sargsyan said during the recent three years this sphere has
a leading position in Armenia's economy. "It may be proved by the
number of subscribers getting use of mobile Internet and the index
of availability of internet", he said.
During the "DigiTech Business" forum "ArmenTel" and "Microsoft"
companies will present "cloud technologies" presenting in their
pavilions services based on that technology.
Representatives of Georgian IT companies are also participating in
the forum presenting in separate pavilions technologic solutions of
the country's business sphere.
