YEREVAN. - Armenia wants to take part in "Eurovision Song Contest
2012", to be held in Azerbaijan's capital, but Armenia needs serious
security guarantees not only by the Azerbaijani side, but also European
Broadcasting Union, head of the Armenian delegation at the "Eurovision"
song contest Gohar Gasparyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She commented on Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov's
statement that Baku is ready to ensure the safety of the Armenian
    participants at Eurovision-2012.

According to Gasparyan, no matter Azerbaijan issues such statements,
the Armenian side will not be satisfied with them and will raise the
issue during talks with the European Broadcasting Union.

Gasparyan noted Armenia's participation in "Eurovision-2012" has not
yet been discussed with European Broadcasting Union. "At the moment
we focus on Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011," she said adding
the Azerbaijani side has not announced its intention to participate
in the song contest in Yerevan.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, in an interview with
Ekho MoskvyAzerbaijani deputy FM, personal envoy of the President on
Karabakh conflict resolution Araz Azimov said Azerbaijan is ready to
guarantee security of the Armenian delegation in the international
    song contest Eurovision-2012.

Eurovision-2012 will be held in Azerbaijan on May 22-26, 2012, as
the duet Ell/Nikki representing Azerbaijan won the song contest in
    Germany this year.
