ARMENIA'S PROSECUTOR GENERAL: THE ANALYSIS OF RECENT ROBBERIES IN YEREVAN SUGGESTS THAT WE HAVE AN ARMED GANG, WHOSE DETECTION MUST BE TOP PRIORITY FOR THE POLICE

Prosecutor General of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan met on Tuesday
with his deputy Mnatsakan Sargsyan, Prosecutor of Yerevan Hrachya
Badalyan, prosecutors of Yerevan's Avan-Nork Nork and Malatia-Sebastia
communities and First Deputy Chief of the Police Hunan Poghossyan so
as to discuss the recent robberies in Yerevan.

According to the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General
of Armenia, Sargsyan told Hovsepyan that the robberies took place
mostly in Malatia-Sebastia and Avan-Nor Nork. The cases are being
examined by different investigators even though they have obviously
been committed by one gang: all five robberies were committed in early
morning by four-five armed men in black, who stole mostly big money.

Hovsepyan instructed his subordinates to bring the cases together
into one criminal case, to be investigated by the Chief Investigation
Department of the Police. "The analysis of the cases suggests that
we have an armed gang, whose detection must be a top priority for
the Police. Our primary task today is to improve the efficiency of
our fight against crime," the Prosecutor General said.
