EVENTS DEDICATED TO 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY ORGANIZED ON
INITIATIVE OF DIPLOMATIC CORPUS ACCREDITED IN ASHGHABAD
ASHGHABAD, MAY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. Events dedicated to the 60th
anniversary of the Great Victory of the USSR peoples in the Great
Patriotic War were organized on the initiative of the diplomatic
corpus accredited in Ashghabad and, particularly, of the RA
Embassy. As Noyan Tapan was informed from the RA Foreign Ministry's
Press and Information Department, Days of world famous films on the
theme of the war were held at the Officer's House, a concert of songs
of the war years took place. Embassies of the CIS countries and the
countries of the anti-Hitler coalition organized a reception.
Ambassadors, representatives of the state bodies of Turkmenistan,
about 200 veterans among which local Armenians, which were once called
up for military service from Turkmenistan, were present. A.Grigorian,
the RA Ambassador made a speech during the reception. He expressed his
gratitude to veterans, emphasized the role of the Armenian people in
the Victory. An exhibition of paintings on the theme of war and peace
was organized at the reception hall, the authors of which were
children of diplomates working in Turkmenistan.
