    TURKEY TAKES TO COURT HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER WHO RECOGNIZES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

    ISTANBUL. - Ragip Zarakolu, a well-known human rights defender and
    director of Belge Publishing House, in Turkey, whom Turkish police
    detained two days ago within the framework of the KCK (Kurdistan
    Communities Union) affair, was taken to court on Monday morning.

    Along with several leaders of the Kurdish "Peace and Democracy Party"
    and Professor Busra Ersanli, Zarakolu was taken to a district court
    in Istanbul, CNN Turk news agency reported.

    On their way to the court, some of the detained made the victory sign
    to news reporters and shouted: "If there is justice, we are free!"

    Ragip Zarakolu's Belge Publishing House has published numerous books on
    the Armenian Genocide, and Zarakolu had visited Armenia in Spring 2011.
