EXPERT DOUBTS AZERBAIJAN WILL WITHDRAW SNIPERS FROM CONTACT LINE

"Supreme Patriarchs of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have passed a
declaration which supports the OSCE Minsk Group efforts towards the
peaceful resolution of NK conflict. This time some tiny, realistic,
noteworthy news was recorded - the withdrawal of snipers from the
line of contact. Supreme Patriarch of Russia has indirectly noted
that the withdrawal of snipers would at least minimize casualties of
civilians," military expert Erik Yeritsyan told Panorama.am referring
to the declaration passed by the Supreme Patriarchs of Armenia,
Azerbaijan and Russia during the CIS Inter-religious Council session.

According to the expert, the Armenian party has always been committed
to withdraw the snipers, but getting a denial from Azerbaijan, Armenia
has been forced to punish them exercising their own methods. "Even if
Azerbaijan isn't ready to sign a peace deal, the country must display
a political will to keep the ceasefire regime," said the expert.

"War isn't a solution for the conflict neither from the point of
view of international law, nor from moral. Although that method has
always and is being exercised. Let's hope Azerbaijan will be wise
    and pragmatic," concluded E. Yeritsyan.
