Signatures of a total of 60 MPs or of 60 senators are needed to appeal
a legislation to the Constitutional Court in France.

Number of French deputies increased Wednesday to appeal a bill adopted
on Monday to make it a crime to reject Armenian allegations on the
    Ottoman era incidents of 1915.

Signatures of a total of 60 MPs or of 60 senators are needed to
appeal a legislation to the Constitutional Court in France. The French
president can also appeal a legislation to the court.

UMP member and Chairman of the Turkish-French Parliamentary Group
Michel Diefenbacher said the number of MPs of the lower house of the
French parliament reached 35 to appeal the bill to the high court.

"France's role is to bring the two nations closer not the opposite,"
    Diefenbacher said.

The bill penalizes rejection of the Armenian allegations with a prison
term of one year and a fine of 45 thousand euros.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is expected to approve the
    legislations within two weeks.
