    Iranian view of Armenia's Taekwondo

YEREVAN.- Armenia's Taekwondo championship held in Yerevan is over.

The champions in different categories have become Varag Aghajanyan (54
kg), European Champion Haykaz Samvelyan (58 kg), Gurgen Harutyunyan
(63 kg), Narek Zargaryan (68 kg), Vahagn Aghekyan (74 kg), Levon
Pashabazyan (80 kg), Gena Rustamyan (87 kg).

The News.am Sport correspondent interviewed coach and international
    judge from Iran Ojat Aran.

How do you assess the skills of the Armenian fighters?

First, I want to say that the quality of the championships has
improved as compared with the last year.

Mr. Aran, Taekwondo is a national sport in Iran. The Iranian fighters
are one of the world's best. Is it possible to compare the skills of
the Armenian athletes with the Iranian ones?

I am training two groups in Yerevan. Armenian athletes are improving
their skills. About 5 million people are taking Taekwondo classes in
Iran but only three of them have qualified for the London Olympic
Games. Meanwhile, one out of only 3,000 Armenian athletes qualified
    too.
