    ARMENIA MARKS GENOCIDE REMEMBRANCE DAY

    Voice of Russia
    April 24 2012

Today Armenia marks Genocide Remembrance Day to commemorate an
estimated 1.5 million Armenians who were killed during World War I.

Thousands of people turned up at the Genocide memorial in the Armenian
    capital, Yerevan earlier today.

Commemorations will also be held among Armenian communities dispersed
    across the globe.
