The Armenian authorities have to urge Hillary Clinton to explain
whether the US truly finds the self-determination principles is a key
to settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, a senior representative of
the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) has said.

"The US-Armenia relations are important to us, like the other issues
of concern - the Armenia-Turkey relations and the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict - which are also interesting to the United States," Giro
Manoyan, a political affairs director at the ARF-D Bureau, told a
    news conference on Friday.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be in Armenia on June 4
as part of her regional visit to the South Caucasus.

Manoyan called for the Armenia authorities' efforts towards asking
Clinton to pressure Turkey into a normalization process with Armenia.

"Turkish President [Abdullah] Gul's recent statements are a curtain
for the international community, which seek to demonstrate that there
is some process under way," he added.

Manoyan noted that the purpose of Clinton's visit might be the
interest in the developments around Iran, as well as concerns over
the situation in the region. According to him, the US official seeks
yet another more opportunity to say that Armenia has given Turkey a
chance to normalize ties without preconditions.
