    US INDEPENDENCE DAY WAS CELEBRATED IN AMERICAN EMBASSY TO ARMENIA

    YERVAN

    YEREVAN, JULY 2, ARMENPRESS: American embassy to Armenia with Armenian
    guests on July 2nd celebrated 236th anniversary of declaration of
    Independence of United Sates. Armenpress was informed from US embassy
    that Ambassador John Heffern and Foreing affairs Minister of Armenia
    Edward Nalbandian warmly greeted Armenian-American close partnership.

    The solemn ceremony started by performance of anthems of two countries
    and during the event there was sounded American jazz.

    Ambassador Heffern mentioned in his speech that this year was the
    20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Armenia and United
    States of America and added: "Deepening of partnership, stimulating
    of common values: this is our mission, all out efforts in Armenia
    are directed to this".

    Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal
    holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the
    Declaration of independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence
    from the Kingdom of the Great Britain.
