Russian and Georgian experts discuss withdrawal of forces

RBC, 08.06.2005, Tbilisi 14:44:17.Russian and Georgian experts
are discussing details of the withdrawal of Russian bases from
Georgia in Tbilisi. Georgia's foreign ministry has reported that
specifically, a delegation of Russian military experts, led by
ambassador Lev Mironov, will discuss the schedule for withdrawing the
    bases.

Mironov told reporters that the two countries were now working
on the implementation of the declaration on the withdrawal of the
bases, which was signed by the Russian and Georgian foreign ministers
in Moscow. "We should transform it (the declaration) into a legally
binding document in the form of an agreement," the diplomat said. He
remarked that the main parameters of the Russian forces' withdrawal
were outlined in the declaration, and there were no disagreements
between the two countries in connection with this.

Presently, approximately 3,000 Russian servicemen and 2,500
units of Russia's military equipment are deployed in Georgia. Some of
the equipment has already been moved to Armenia.
