INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUBJECT "MODERN METHODS OF RESTORATION,
DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT OF HEARING" TO BE HELD ON JUNE 14 IN YEREVAN
YEREVAN, JUNE 8, NOYAN TAPAN. On the initiative of the Erebuni medical
center an international conference on subject "Modern Methods of
Restoration, Diagnostics and Treatment of Hearing" to be held on June
14 in Yerevan. Artur Shukurian, Head of the center's Nose-throat-ear
department, informed Noyan Tapan's correspondent that specialists from
Armenia, as well as the US, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Georgia
will participate in the conference. According to A.Shukurian, placing
of cochlea implant into the ear is one of the modern efficient methods
of restoration of hearing. The department has been carrying out such
operations since March 2004 and 6 children have been operated on free
of charge by now. The head of the department said that 6 more children
will be operated on free of charge on June 17-18 with participation of
foreign specialists. According to A.Shukurian, the patients should
pay only for implants, 12 thousand dollars.
