The problems of adaptation of the Armenians of Syria which moved to
the Kashataq region of Nagornyy Karabakh were discussed during the
meeting of the candidate for the Karabakh president Vitaliy Balasanyan
with Armenians from the Syrian Gamshli region on 17 July.
As electoral headquarters of Balasanyan reported, he said in particular
that Motherland-Diaspora relations should be based on the principle
of mutuality. "Diaspora has been always showing great support to
Nagornyy Karabakh. Now it is time for Nagornyy Karabakh to show aid
to representatives of the Diaspora if there is threat to their life",
