ARMENIAN RELIEF SOCIETY TO ASSIST ARMENIANS IN SYRIA

The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) of Western USA calls the community
members to get united and support the Armenians in Syria in the
conflict and civil war background, which continues to escalate in
Syria, Asbarez reports.
"At this crucial time, the ARS Western Region has committed to a full
force humanitarian response effort to raise funds in aid of Armenians
in Syria. Support in this effort knows no bounds and a donation in
any amount to the 'Fund for Assistance to Syrian Armenian Schools'
will undeniably demonstrate a united undertaking to fulfill our
moral duty in coming to the aid of fellow Armenians in distress,"
the newspaper reports.
Over 60,000 to 70,000 Armenians live in Syria, half of them in Aleppo,
and another half in other cities, including the capital city Damascus
as well.
