    PanARMENIAN.Net - Aleppo-based Syrian Armenians are afraid to leave
    their homes, the founder of "Outreach to Syrian Armenians" Facebook
    page, writer/publicist Anahit Adamyan told PanARMENIAN.Net According
    to a Syrian Armenian, who wrote to Facebook page administrators,
    the situation in Aleppo is very serious, with his family hiding in
    the cellar of their house to escape shelling.

    "Electricity and phone service outage are common in the city, with no
    municipal service operating. The family would like to leave Aleppo
    for Armenia, yet are unable to in view of the danger of leaving the
    city," Ms Adamyan said.

    Mortar fire and tank shells exploded across Aleppo district of
    Salaheddine early on Tuesday, August 7 forcing rebel fighters to take
    cover in crumbling buildings and rubble-strewn alleyways.

    Tanks have entered parts of Salaheddine and army snipers, using the
    cover of heavy bombardment, deployed on rooftops, hindering rebel
    movements.
