Brazil allocates $100 thousand to Armenian children

The Brazilian government has allocated $100 thousand to UNICEF to
    help Armenian children, NEWS.am reports.

The Armenian ambassador to Brazil said that the money will be spent on
    programs to
improve children's nutrition. According to her, in the last few years
the problem of nutrition in Armenia has worsened. According to studies,
the average height and weight of 20% of children in Armenia do not
    coincide with their age.

A representative of the Ministry of Health, Karine Saribekyan,
stressed the relevance of proper nutrition of children. She said that,
despite the fact that malnutrition depends on economic and social
factors, problems also occur among children from well-off families.
"The problem is not that kids are hungry, but that the diet of
children lacks essential micronutrients, such as proteins," she
    said.
