"We are excited to have Michelle joining our staff. She brings
experience, energy, and an extraordinary example of dedication to
her position as Executive Director," said ANCA Eastern Region Board
chairman George Aghjayan. "Michelle will greatly assist the ANCA to
further promote important issues of concern to Armenian-Americans."

"I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to begin working at
the Armenian National Committee of America," said Hagopian. "The task
ahead promises to be exciting and, at the same time, challenging. I
look forward to working with our local chapters and activists to help
advance our interests at the local, state and federal level."

Hagopian has just completed her master's in journalism from the
University of Illinois and currently serves on the Central Executive
of the Armenian Youth Federation-YOARF Eastern Region, U.S. Last year,
she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri with
a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in women's and gender
studies. She has been an active member of the AYF and Camp Haiastan.

In addition, she brings extensive experience working in the media.

Hagopian will be working from the 4th floor office of the ANCA-ER in
    the Hairenik Building, Watertown, Mass.

The Armenian National Committee of America-Eastern Region is the
largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy
organization in the Eastern United States. Working in coordination
with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the
Eastern United States and affiliated organizations around the country,
the ANCA-ER advances the concerns of the Armenian American community
on a broad range of issues.
