Yerevan - In the final round of the world Chess Olympiad on September
9, Armenia's team beat Hungary to edge out Russia for the top spot and
take Armenia's fourth global chess prize in six years. The Olympiad -
a competition of more than 150 nations was held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Armenian team comprised Levon Aronian, Sergey Movsisyan, Vladimir
Akopian, Gabriel Sargsyan and Tigran Petrosian (Jr.) and team captain
(coach) Arshak Petrosyan. A victory by Tbilisi-born Movsisyan over
a Hungarian chess player in the last round proved crucial for the
    overall victory.

The team is expected to be feted in Yerevan on September 10, where
they will arrive on Armenian president's plane specially dispatched
    to Istanbul, according to chess-news.ru.

Last year, the same team won the world team chess championship held
in China. Playing without Movsisyan - who joined Armenia's team in
2011 - Armenia won the 2006 and 2008 Chess Olympiads held in Italy and
Germany, respectively. Ukraine won the 2010 Olympiad held in Russia.
