Ahmet DavutoÄ?lu will unveil monument in Ottawa, which was kept secret
    from Armenians

    17:15, 19 September, 2012

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Turkey Ahmet DavutoÄ?lu left for Canada in order to open in Ottawa the
monument of the military attaché of the Turkish Embassy, Colonel
Atilla Altikata, killed by the ASALA (Armenian Secret Army for the
Liberation of Armenia) 30 years ago. The permission of the Ottawa Town
Hall for the construction and installment of the monument was kept
secret for a year from the Armenian community. As reported by
Armenpress, it was published in the Turkish `Hurriyet' Daily, stating
that Turkey assisted much in the construction of the monument.

The monument was built in Turkey and was stealthily transferred to
Canada by parts. The author of the monument announced to the
journalists that it was `the first response monument made by Turkish
to the tens of anti-Turkish stone monuments built by Armenians in
    foreign countries'.

It was mentioned that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet
DavutoÄ?lu would be received by his Canadian colleague in Ottawa and
    discuss the bilateral cooperation issues.
