    RA NA PRESIDENT HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN IS ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC

    On October 29 at the invitation of the President of the Senate of the
    Czech Republic Milan Å tÄ~[ch the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan
    arrived on a three-day official visit in Prague. The delegation led
    by the NA President comprises of the Chairman of the NA Standing
    Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan, the Chairwoman of the
    NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs
    Elinar Vardanyan, deputies Karine Atshemyan and Artur Gevorgyan.

    Arriving in the Prague Airport the delegation led by the NA President
    left for Karlovy Vary region, where he had meetings with the Mayor
    of the Karlovy Vary Petr Kulhánek and the Head of the State Joseph
    Novotny. In the course of the meeting a series of issues pertaining
    to the development of the bilateral relations and inter-regional
    cooperation were discussed. During the meeting with the Mayor of the
    Karlovy Vary Mr Abrahamyan proposed to establish partnership relations
    between the towns of Jermuk and Karlovy Vary or declare them sister
    towns, as the two spa towns are well known with their healing mineral
    waters and have some commonness. The Head of the Parliament proposed
    the Mayor of the city to visit Armenia, and particularly, the town of
    Jermuk, to get acquainted with the town closer and pre-indicate the
    spheres of cooperation. The Mayor of the Karlovy Vary Petr Kulhánek
    gladly accepted Hovik Abrahamyan's proposal, considering it a brilliant
    idea and stressed that the cooperation between the two towns would
    promote the tourism and would give one more opportunity to closely
    get acquainted the two peoples.

    During the working dinner with the Head of the State Joseph Novotny the
    sides highlighted the cooperation between the regions as an important
    factor aimed at more developing and strengthening the relationship
    of the two countries. Mr Abrahamyan also proposed the Head of the
    State to visit Armenia and to carry out activities with one of the
    Marzes, particularly, Vayots Dzor. The Head of the State accepted
    with inspiration the NA President's proposal and noted that they
    would certainly visit Armenia with the Mayor of the Karlovy Vary
    and expressed hope that the cooperation would be productive and
    mutually useful.

    In Karlovy Vary the delegation led by the NA President visited the
    Moser Glassworks Company of world fame, as well as Jan Becher Museum
    and Jan Becher-Karlovska Becherovka Production Hall. Hovik Abrahamyan
    and the members of the delegation got acquainted with the sights of
    the spa town, had been in the Mineral Water Center.

    On October 30 the meetings of the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan with
    the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milan Å tÄ~[ch, the
    Chairman of the Czech Republic-Armenia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship
    Group Robin BÅ'hnisch, as well as the representatives of the Armenian
    community are also scheduled.
