YEREVAN.- Ukraine will actively support all efforts of the OSCE Minsk
Group on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Ukraine's Ambassador
to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ukrainian diplomat recalled that Ireland transferred to Ukraine
chairmanship of the OSCE during December 6-7 meetings of the OSCE
    Foreign Ministers in Dublin.

`For us it is very important and responsible mission. Ukraine is ready
for active and fruitful work. Speaking during this year's UN General
Assembly meeting in New York, Ukrainian President named the main
priorities. The main directions of Ukraine's chairmanship will be the
settlement of regional conflicts in the OSCE area, strengthening
confidence measures and security, use of organization's potential to
ensure energy security, promote economic development, including the
development of new trade and transport corridors,' he said.

Ukraine also plans to initiate a new dialogue within the OSCE on new
basis of future regime of controls on conventional armed forces in
Europe, which must take into account the security interests of all
    member states.

Ambassador noted that his country will also focus on protection of
fundamental human rights and liberties in the OSCE area.

Asked whether the OSCE chairperson-in-office plans to visit the South
Caucasus, Kukhta said the date of the visit has not been defined. Most
likely, it will take place in the first quarter or beginning of the
    second quarter of 2013.
