    8,300 PEOPLE INTERROGATED ON VAZGEN KHACHIKYAN'S CASE

    As of January 8, 2013, some 8,300 people were interrogated within
    the framework of the criminal case on large scale of abuse by the
    leadership of Armenia's Social Insurance State Service affiliated to
    the Labor and Social Affairs Ministry.

    The former head of the service Vazgen Khachikyan is under arrest. The
    case is being investigated by the chief investigation department of
    the police dealing with special cases.

    According to the police website, among the interrogated ones are
    employees of the service's divisions, pensioners.

    Overall, 53 people, including two fugitives, have been involved in
    the case as defendants. Thirteen of them have been arrested. The total
    damage to the state amounted to 376.716.903 drams of which 51.773.902
    have been restored.

    The investigation is under way.
