YEREVAN. - The situation that was created in Armenia was foreseeable,
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic former FM and Armenia's presidential
candidate Arman Melikyan said during a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, he held hopes until the end that the political forces
would not boycott the forthcoming presidential elections.

"Today, second-echelon representatives have entered into the election
campaign. I mean [political] party leaders. Today, we have reached
the finish line, when no chance is left to form a government by way
of elections, and the victim is the body politic," Melikyan added.

He noted that, considering created situation and the challenges,
he decided to run for president.

During the press conference, Arman Melikyan also signed a letter, which
was addressed to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), whereby he
proposed the CEC to publicize the data on those that no longer live
in Armenia, those that have been issued Armenian citizenship but
do not live in the country, and on those that have renounced their
    Armenian citizenship.

"We believe 35-40 percent of Armenia's population does not live in
    Armenia," Arman Melikyan added.
