YOUNG ARMENIAN AUTHORS WRITING IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES TO GATHER IN ARMENIA

    09:44, 17 January, 2013

YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian authors from Diaspora
do not write in the Armenian, but in foreign languages and this is
not something new. The Chairman of the Writer's Union of Armenia
Levon Ananyan is rather concerned about this and this issue causes
particular anxiety in case of the young Armenian writers living in
Diaspora. In a conversation with "Armenpress" Levon Ananyan stated that
the Writer's Union of Armenia jointly with the Ministry of Diaspora of
the Republic of Armenia initiated a conference of the Young Armenian
authors writing in foreign languages, which will be held in Armenia
in summer. The Chairman of the Writer's Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan
stated: "We are really concerned about this problem, because there is
no author left in Diaspora under 30, who is writing in Armenian. They
are all writing in foreign languages."

Presently the Writer's Union of Armenia is engaged in the development
of the program of abovementioned conference.

Also the Writer's Union of Armenia will convoke another seminar
in Tsaghkadzor on February, which will be dedicated to the literary
criticism. A number of young literary critics, experts of the realm and
students will partake in the three-day seminar entitled "Postmodernism:
    After 20 Years".
