Activists of the opposition Armenian National Congress gathered on
Friday outside the Prosecutor General's Office to call for the release
of four members jailed over a clash with the police back in 2011.

"We have gathered here once again to express our solidarity with
our friends," a coordinator of the alliance, Levon Zurabyan, said at
    the rally.

The activist told the crowd that the alliance is now returning to
what he called an unyielding struggle against the authorities.

The four members of the opposition alliance were jailed in August 2011
after clashing with police officers in the vicinities of Yerevan's
Swan Lake. One of them, Tigran Arakelyan, was convicted for six years
for resorting to a serious violence against a representative of the
authorities (with threats to life or health). Tigran Karapetyan,
another activist, was jailed over charges of hooliganism and violence
(3 years). The other two, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kiramijyan,
were sentenced to two years for hooliganism.

The gathering was also attended by Aram Manukyan, the head of the
    Armenian Pan-National Movement's political board.
