    ELDERLY ARMENIAN MAN COMMITS SUICIDE TO "NOT BECOME BURDEN?" - NEWSPAPER

    YEREVAN. - Kh. Torosyan, 86, a resident of Sasunik village of Armenia's
    Aragatsotn Region, drank an unknown toxic chemical on Wednesday,
    in the room that was built in his garage, to end his life, Iravunk
    daily reports.

    "And a note was found at the garage that read: 'I apologize to my
    relatives for this action of mine. Please don't blame anyone!'

    And we tried to find out from Sasunik village prefect, Arman Margaryan,
    as to what pushed the elderly man to such action. He specifically said:

    'The grandpa was a very good, respected man in the village. His son
    and daughter-in-law died at an early age. He and his wife kept and
    raised their three small grandchildren with great difficulty. When
    his wife died in May 2012, that man became depressed instantaneously;
    he used to say: 'I'm a sick man; I don't want to trouble anyone. If I
    don't die naturally, I'll do something to die. I don't want to become
    a burden.' In all likelihood, he resorted to such step to not become
    the burden that he mentioned,'" Iravunk quotes.
