    ARMENIAN ARMY IS THE "IRON GUARANTEE" OF THE REGIONAL PEACE. SERZH SARGSYAN

    YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, ARMENPRESS: There is an "iron guarantee" of the
    regional peace and that guarantee is Armenian army. This was noted
    by Presidential candidate, Leader of the Republican Party of Armenia
    Serzh Sargsyan during the meeting with the voters from Kapan on January
    23. Serzh Sargsyan paid a visit to Kapan within the framework of the
    election campaign. Presidential candidate noted that secure Armenia
    for Syunik people was first of all peace which might be established
    only by powerful army. "We have great achievements here, which will
    be multiplied in 5 years," RPA candidate stated.

    Serzh Sargsyan connected the future economic growth with the
    development of entrepreneurial activity. He highlighted that on this
    purpose state is contributing the innovations in small and medium
    enterprises making financial resources more available and the tax
    field more simplified.

    RPA candidate noted that internal policy of Armenia was aimed at
    spreading democracy and establishing rule of law in the country. He
    said our external political position matched with the approaches of
    international institutions.

    "Today I am here to describe the way which will lead us to the top. I
    am also here to express my trust and belief towards you," Serzh
    Sargsyan said. He also spoke about the future programs which would
    develop the socio-economic situation of Syunik. He has considered
    secure Armenia as not only the one which is safe but also the one
    which is prosperous.

    Serzh Sargsyan has noted the potential of Syunik is not yet fully
    disclosed but it would be, by joint efforts. Presidential candidate
    also referred to the strong relations of Artsakh and Syunik, as well
    as highlighted the importance of holding free, fair and transparent
    elections.

    The election campaign launched on January 21 and will last until
    February 16. The deadline of submitting resignations to the Central
    Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia is 18:00 o'clock,
    February 8. The electronic votes will launch at 08:00 o'clock on
    February 9 and last until 20:00 o'clock February 13. The votes will
    kick off on February 18 at 08:00 and will last until 20:00 o'clock.

    Final results of the presidential elections will be announced on
    February 25, 2013.
