Resident of Shvanidzor Accused of Theft Committed by Means of a Computer

The preliminary investigation initiated on theft committed by means of
computer by A. Bachtiaryan was completed in the Investigation Division
of Especially Important Cases of the General Investigation Department
of the Police adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The deputy head of the Department for Cases Investigated by National
Security Bodies and Cybercrimes of the RA Prosecutor General's Office
who implemented procedural control over the criminal case confirmed
the bill of indictment.
The resident of village Shvanidzor, Syuniq region A. Bachtiaryan who
was sentenced to imprisonment for 3 years and 3 months according to
the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 176 of the RA Criminal Code
got acquainted with the resident of town Sisian N.M. through the
phones used illegally by him while serving his term in penitentiary
"Kosh" of the RA Ministry of Justice.
By the preliminary investigation it was found out that A. Bachtiaryan
had entered the social site odnoklassniki.ru through mobile phones,
had created a personal page in the name of "Harut Araqelyan"
representing himself as a defendant of "Nyuvadi" section of
penitentiary "Goris".
Then during the communication with N. M. via the site-page and phones
on March 26 and 27, 2012 through fraud, by abusing her trust he had
swindled 327.000 AMD from her by means of computer.
Particularly, A. Bachtiaryan representing himself as "Harut Araqelyan"
had created false intimate relations with N.M. and abusing her trust
had demanded from her 20 charge cards for mobile phone to give them to
the heads of penitentiary.
N. M. buying 20 charge cards each 1000 AMD had massaged their data via
her personal page in site "odnoklassniki.ru".
It was also found out that in order to solve the problem of his early
release from prison by abusing N. M.'s trust, with condition of
returning the money A. Bachtiaryan, had demanded 1000 USD from her.
Only a part of it 170.000 AMD was given to A. Bachtiaryan.
Besides, A. Bachtiaryan had also demanded from N. M. to transfer
137.000 AMD to the phone numbers indicated by him.
After realizing his intention A. Bachtiaryan had removed N. M.'s data
from his personal page of the site and switched off the phones.
On the base of the obtained evidence A. Bachtiaryan was accused
according to the Part 1 of the Article 181of the Criminal Code of the
Republic of Armenia. Prosecutor General's Office of RoA reports that
the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the Court of
First Instance of Aragatsotn region.
