ARMY IN REALITY CIVIL INITIATIVE BLAMES ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES FOR INABILITY TO ERADICATE TRAGIC INCIDENTS IN ARMENIAN ARMED FORCES

The Army in Reality civil initiative blames Armenian authorities for
inability to eradicate the tragic incidents in the Armenian Armed
Forces. The statement of the initiative says that the Armenian army
is marking its 21st anniversary with new human victims and serious
violations of human rights.
"While the commander-in-chief is conducting his election campaign,
his army continues seeing criminal indifference, violence, tortures and
deaths. We condemn the passiveness and inability of the authorities to
remove all these problems and to change the image of the army. The
delay of measures is fraught with new victims and losses", the
document says.
To recall, according to preliminary data, a senior sergeant of a
military unit of the Armenian Armed Forces Artak Galstyan died of
a chest wound on the combat position on January 26 around 11:40 pm
after junior sergeant Yuri Gareginyan had fired at him from his gun.
Investigation is underway, the press service of the Armenian Defense
Ministry reported.
