Heritage rep. disapproves of Hayrikyan's message style

    12:31 - 09.02.13

Armen Martirosyan of the opposition Heritage party says he wouldn't
prefer presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan to address his
opposition challengers in the style and manner he used in a recent
    message.

Commenting on the candidate's open letter which he posted on Facebook
overnight, the politician said he has no idea whether their leader,
Raffi Hovhannisyan, would accept the call for a united campaign.

In his message composed in the classical Armenian (Western Armenian)
orthography, the candidate had called upon Hovhannisyan, and the
leader of the Freedom party Hrant Bagratyan to act unitedly ahead of
the upcoming election to ensure the success of their common ideas.

`[Raffi Hovhannisan] had meetings with both Paruyr Hayrikyan - before
the assassination attempt - and Hrant Bagratyan, but they did not talk
of a united candidate. Their conversation focused on a common
    struggle,' Martirosyan told Tert.am.

He noted further that Hayrikyan, who heads the National
Self-Determination Union, had earlier promised not to apply to the
Constitutional Court over a vote delay for now to allow time for a
debate over the preconditions he proposed after the recent gun
    assault.

Tert.am contacted Bagratyan's spokesperson for comment, but the latter
said the candidate's answer will be made public later on Saturday.
