OSCE will open Nagorno-Karabakh airport. Modest Kolerov

    19:43, 14 February, 2013

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 14, ARMENPRESS: International developments predict
new political landscape for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Moreover, in
the new political situation Armenia and USA will be players of a
single “team”. This conclusion was reached by candidate for historical
science, Russian First Class Advisor Modest Kolerov in the article
published by Rex agency, analyzing the logic of events taking place in
Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Armenpress reports, author of the article noted that withdrawal of
American forces from Afghanistan and new relations with
“post-Ahmadinejad” Iran will form a new agenda for Armenia where Serzh
Sargsyan is most likely to win on February 18. “Outcome of these
changes may turn into the involvement of Armenia in the transit
operations of American forces from Afghanistan. That is why opening of
Stepanakert airport, which once seemed to be adventurous and
provocative move, is not impossible now. What about new Georgia and
old Azerbaijan, they don’t seem to be trustful,” Kolerov analyzed.

“Opening of the airport will be aimed not at the recognition of
Nagorno-Karabakh independence but at the independence of military and
political communication around Nagorno-Karabakh which will ensure the
comfortableness of OSCE and political observation missions, as well as
the deployment of peacekeepers. Representatives of OSCE mission are
likely to be the first passengers of the airplane of Stepanakert
    airport,” he noted.
