MELIK-SHAHNAZARIAN: AZERBAIJAN'S POLICY CONTRADICTS INTERESTS OF TURKEY

Azerbaijan's policy in the region does not proceed from the interests
of Turkey in the context of its relations with Israel and the
activation of the Kurdish factor, political scientist Levon
Melik-Shahnazarian said at the meeting with reporters today.
In his words, Azerbaijan impedes the normalization of Armenian-Turkish
relations, which also contradicts Turkey's interests in terms of its
relationship with Europe.
Melik-Shahnazarian said that a weak Azerbaijan would be advantageous to Turkey.
"Ankara wants Azerbaijan to be dependent on Turkey, as was the case in
1918-1920," he noted.
