FILM TELLING ABOUT ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DEMONSTRATED IN ATHENS

    ARMINFO
    Thursday, February 21, 14:56

A film 'Sunrise over Lake Van' telling about the Armenian Genocide
was demonstrated in Athens on February 18.

The main character is an 80-year-old Garabed, whose mother miraculously
survived the 1915 Armenian Genocide. He tries to preserve the memory
of the lost Motherland in his Americanized offspring.

That's how he can save the family from mutual alienation and rift.

The press-service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports the film
participated in the first Peloponnesian International Film Festival.

At the initiative of the Festival leadership cinema evenings dedicated
to the festival participant-states will be held in various cities in
Greece. The first evening was dedicated to Armenia. Representatives of
the legislative and executive powers of Greece, diplomats, scientists,
artists and cultural workers attended demonstration of the film Sunrise
over Lake Van. The will was demonstrated with the support of the
Armenian Embassy in Greece and the National Cinema Center of Armenia.
