Two officers of an Armenian military unit have been detained over
the scandal that saw buffalo meat supplied to army privates.

The detained servicemen are the head and the deputy head of the
military unit's food storage, a spokesperson at the Defense Ministry's
Investigative Service told Tert.am, adding that the inquest into the
    case is still in progress.

Both detainees are facing charges over negligent service (Article
    376 of Armenia's Criminal Code).

Earlier, Albert Ohanjanyan, the director of the Ohanjanyan Ltd (Kapan,
Syunik region), was thought to be the only culprit in the case. He
was accused of swindling (Article 178.3(1) of the Criminal Code).

Several people, including a former deputy chief of the Armenian Armed
Forces General Headquarters, Lieutenant-General Arshaluys Paytyan,
    have been interrogated so far.
