AZERBAIJAN FAILS TO LEAD OSCE MISSION TO FRONTLINE

    14:36 22/02/2013 " TOPIC OF THE DAY

On February 22, in accordance with the arrangement reached with
the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the OSCE mission
conducted a planned monitoring of the line of contact between the
armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in Martuni direction,
    near the settlement of Kuropatkino.

    >From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was
conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the
OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and Hristo Hristov
(Bulgaria) and the member of their office Jonathan Ferraby (Canada).

    >From the opposite side, the monitoring was conducted by
Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE
Chairperson-in-Office Irji Aberle (Czech Republic) and William Prior
    (Great Britain).

No violation of the cease-fire regime was registered during the
monitoring. However, the Azerbaijani side did not lead the OSCE
mission to its frontline, as a result of which the monitoring was
    conducted from a farther distance.

    >From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by
representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense,
    NKR MFA press service reported.
