Heritage party's leader Raffi Hovannisian's rally has kicked off in
the Liberty Square. The participants have gathered in the square,
though the police are claiming that the gathering is illegal and warn
    of possible punitive measures.

Yerevan deputy police chief Valery Osipyan approached Raffi
Hovannisian, warning him personally of the illegality of the rally,
which raised the discontent of the people who were shouting `Shame,
    shame'.

The electricity was switched off in the square to impede its
continuation and not to allow Raffi Hovannisian to deliver his speech.
Tert.am correspondent though reports that the electricity has been
switched on and Heritage party's leader delivered his speech.

`Armenian citizens, people are standing here who have chosen for
Heritage, ARF-D, Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia party
and even for the Republican. An Armenian citizen is standing here who
knows that we have one common flag. The breath of 1988 and the spirit
of 2008 dominates here. We all will be together till our final
    victory,' Hovannisian said.

The gathered were chanting - `Unification, unification.'

Heritage party leader said a big process is ongoing and different
streams should join it. He said the results of their struggle are
already visible, stressing the resignation of Shirak governor, Armavir
mayor, Vanadzor mayor. `Governors of Tavush, Syunik, heads of villages
will all resign. The Freedom has gone out, no one will take it back
    from us,' he stated.
