DEPUTIES OF LITHUANIAN SEIMAS ADOPTED DECLARATION ON FRIENDSHIP GROUP CREATION WITH ARTSAKH

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS: Group of deputies of Seimas of the
Lithuanian Republic on February 26 adopted a declaration on creation
a friendship group with Artsakh. Armenpress was informed from external
relation department of ARF.
It is mainly noted in the declaration:
"Taking into account the 25th anniversary of Artsakh movement, when
Armenian nation implemented its right of self-determination, and at
that time Lithuania greeted that willing and presented its support
to the peaceful resolution of the issue;
taking into account that in the struggle for the independence Artsakh
and Lithuanian people were guided by norms of international law,
democratic values and common ideas, to which they remain to be faithful
till now;
sharing European territory policy, according to which every inhabitant
of it has the right of access to basic rights and fundamental freedoms;
taking into account that right of self-determination is the only
guarantee of the insurance of physical security and democratic
development of nations in international practice;
noting visible efforts of Artsakh aimed at creation of free and
democratic society through holding legitimate elections and creating
responsible and efficient government;
evaluating Artsakh involvement in the resolution of international
community's issues and establishment of peace and stability in
the region,
We, deputies of Seimas, declare in Seimas of Lithuanian Republic about
the decisions on creating a Friendship Group with Artsakh Republic".
