    LITHUANIAN PARLIAMENT PAID A TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY OF SUMGAIT MASSACRE VICTIMS

    YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, ARMENPRESS: A conference entitled "Armenia
    -Lithuania. A glance to the not early past" dedicated to the
    public movements in Armenia and Lithuania and 25 anniversary of
    Artsakh Armenians national liberation struggle was hosted at Seymas
    (Parliament) of Lithuania on February 26. As Information and Public
    Relations department told Armenpress, the present people paid a
    tribute to the memory of innocent victims of Sumgait massacre.

    Members of Lithuanian legislative body, representatives of political,
    public and academic circles, Lithuanian "Sayudis" movement founding
    members, as well as Lithuanian Armenian community representatives
    attended the ceremony. Nagorno Karabakh Republic Foreign Affair
    Minister Karen Mirzoyan, Armenia's National Assembly MP Vahan
    Hovhannisyan were special quests of the conference.

    Member of the Lithuanian Seymas Dalia Kuodite read the declaration on
    establishing Republic of Lithuania - Artsakh Republic friendly group
    in Lithuanian Republic Seymas. The original of the signed document
    was handed to NKR Foreign Affair Minister Karen Mirzoyan. Nine members
    of Seymas, representing various factions, have joined the initiative.
