    LEVON ANANYAN: ABSENCE OF YOUNG CHILDREN'S AUTHORS IS ONE OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE MODERN ARMENIAN LITERATURE

    YEREVAN, APRIL 2, ARMENPRESS: One of the problems of the modern
    Armenian literature is absence of young children's writers. This
    was announced by the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia Levon
    Ananyan at the press conference on April 2.

    As reported by Armenpress, there are few modern Armenian children's
    writers. Only about 10 names could be mentioned. Nevertheless,
    as stated by the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia, the
    children's literature, notwithstanding the absence of young writers,
    in on a quite high level in Armenia.

    According to Levon Ananyan, one of the most important achievements of
    the children's literature is the quality developing and printing. "We
    are competitive in the European market with our high-quality books,
    in which a considerable role is played by the children's painters",
    - said Levon Ananyan.

    The Chairman of the Writers' Union spoke about the work of the
    publishing houses as well. The most active ones are Edit Print,
    Arevik, Antares, Zangak, etc.

    On April 2 the Children's Literature Week was launched in Armenia.

    Having the aim to connect the author with the reader, present the
    children's literature and implement book mission, the event will
    start from Gavar city.
