Everything should be done to avoid bloodshed - ASALA fighter

    14:22 - 02.06.13

Pre-parliament member, ASALA fighter Alek Yenigomshyan born in Lebanon
but having settled in Armenia for the past 18 years is participating
in political, civil national movement that takes place in Armenia. He
said his engagement in the activities is dictated by his conscience.

`Each time has its demands, the fight our generation had in Diaspora
in 1970-80 was the fight of demand, the fight in 1988 in Yerevan and
the whole Armenia and Artsakh was the necessity of that time's demand
    - the armed fight,' he said speaking to Tert.am, stressing that today
a problem of really preserving the small piece of our homeland and
making it a living body exists and the fact is that today our country
    is in crisis.

He said there are two circumstances in ensuring nation's mobility for
saving the country. `First everything should be done to avoid a
bloodshed of Armenians, and it should be principle. Secondly, we know
that in current geopolitical conditions each instability may create
serious blows and give the enemy an opportunity to seek adventures,'
he said, adding that everything should be done to save the country in
    a peaceful way.

`Everything should be done and if all measures fail to give any
results we should not stand in front of any impediment, there is no
red line if all other ways become impossible, and I repeat it is not
threat, no one can blame anyone for applying other measures,' he said,
stressing that he was ASALA fighter not because of a revenge but for
    restoration of rights of Armenians.
Yenigomshyan said that fighting for something is always more
    constructive than fighting against someone.
`I think my presence will inspire something to people, but I am
participating in this fight with the dictation of my conscious. If my
presence inspires anything it is good, but I am doing it with all my
essence, with my conviction and not for inspiring anything,' he said.

He voiced hope that he will have a small contribution to making the
people sober but stressed that everything comes from the
consciousness, belief and will that should raise in people. `If my
presence will promote these three factors I will be very happy,' he
    said
