Joint statement of US, France and Russia on Karabakh unlikely to make
    breakthrough in talks - expert

    June 16, 2013 | 01:17

YEREVAN. - The expected joint statement of the leaders of U.S., France
and Russia on Karabakh will at least confirm existence of the OSCE
Minsk Group as the only possible legitimate negotiation format on
    Karabakh.

Deputy Director of the Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan commented
for Armenian News-NEWS.am on the statement that Obama, Hollande and
Putin plan to adopt during the G8 summit.

`It is obvious that the regular statement of the co-chairing states
will not become a cause for a breakthrough in talks,' he assured.

Minasyan is confident the statement will just show that the peace
talks are under control of the three leading super powers.

The heads of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states plan to issue a
joint statement on Karabakh during the G8 summit to be held on June
    17-18.
