    Ukraine FM, Minsk OSCE Group co-chairs discuss prospects of Karabakh
    conflict settlement

    KIEV June 15

    - OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid
    Kozhara discussed with the co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group the
    issues related with the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
    The Minsk OSCE Group aims to ensure a permanent forum for negotiations
    over a peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict on the
    basis of the principles, commitments and regulations of the
    Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

    During the meeting the co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group - Russian
    Ambassador Igor Popov, French Ambassador Jacques Faure, U.S.
    Ambassador Ian Kelly and Personal Representative of the
    Chairperson-in-Office on the conflict dealt with by the OSCE Minsk
    Conference, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk informed Leonid Kozhara on the
    situation in the negotiating process, as well as the latest meetings
    between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

    "At the meeting the negotiators exchanged the views on the expediency
    to delay the date of a visit of the OSCE chairperson-in-office in
    Azerbaijan and Armenia that is linked with the importance that Ukraine
    as a country presiding in the OSCE attaches to the concrete content of
    the meetings at the top level," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated.

    The OSCE chairperson-in-office confirmed that Ukraine is ready to
    continue to assist to the efforts of the co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE
    Group and the personal representative of the OSCE
    chairperson-in-office aimed at a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno
    Karabakh conflict.
