SEVERAL TIMES MORE ELECTRICITY CAN BE RECEIVED FROM WINDS - ARMENIAN EXPERT

    June 25, 2013 | 01:57

YEREVAN. - Wind, solar, and geothermal sources of alternative energy
are full of prospect in Armenia, "Clean Energy" NGO Board member
    Tigran Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, this NGO was represented at the sixth annual DigiTec Business
Forum that was held in capital city Yerevan on June 21 and 22.

In Grigoryan's view, the energy system in Armenia needs to be hybrid.

That is, in parallel with the base stations-i.e. the nuclear power
plant, or the thermal power plants-alternative energy should be
    developed, too.

He also informed that wind energy stations, with a total capacity of
5,000 megawatts, can be built in Armenia at five to ten locations.

To note, the total capacity of Armenia's present-day power
    stations-including the nuclear power plant-is 1,500-1,800 megawatts.

The investment value for building wind energy stations is one euro
    per watt.

A wind energy station is built in Armenia at PushkinPass.
