    CHESS NEWS INVOLVING ARMENIAN PLAYERS

    YEREVAN. - Armenian GM Hrant Melkumyan scored 4 points after four
    rounds and is leading, together with eight other chess players,
    at the Politiken Cup that is held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    GM Karen Grigoryan tallied 6 points after seven rounds and is the sole
    leader at the open that is held in Sitges, Spain. GM Karen Movsziszian
    is half a point behind the leader while GM Hovik Hayrapetyan has 5
    points. In the penultimate eighth round, the Grigoryan-Movsziszian
    game will be central.

    GM Tigran Gharamian garnered 5.5 points after seven rounds and is
    leading, together with GMs Dragan Solak (Turkey), Mateusz Bartel
    (Poland) and Pentala Harikrishna (India), at the open that is held
    in Biel, Switzerland.

    Armenian WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova scored a total of 6.5 points out of 9
    points and captured twelfth place, from among 375 participants, at the
    open that was held in Avoine, France. Doluhanova was only half a point
    behind the winner, GM Vlad-Cristian Jianu (Romania), Armchess reports.
